We are a group of disciples that believe in following the Bible, teaching others to obey the scriptures and loving one another.
Church should be simple. No complicated budgets or politics, but instead focusing on God and those in need.
The scriptures, such as Colossians 4:15 (Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.) and Philemon 1:2 (also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier --and to the church that meets in your home) provide us with insight that the 1st century church, or the ecclesia, readily met in the homes of believers within their community.
According to church history, it was not until the 4th century that the church began to meet in the central building assembly, often outside the believers’ conmunity, as we know today.
In addition, Acts 2:42-47 provides us with insight on the believer’s fellowship during their meetings as a church; both in public and within their homes.
These examples of scripture reveal that the church is not where believers assemble, but it is who
believers are – a group bonded in fellowship by belief in Jesus!
It is our goal as believers in Jesus to live out the example of the 1st century church, its home meetings and its fellowship, by taking the church back to our homes and our communities.
Our vision, as believers in Jesus, is to emulate his vision for the church by establishing a network of house churches in the communities in North East Florida.
